What to Expect

puppy1.png When you are looking for a veterinary care clinic you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service.  We at Town and Country Animal Hospital in Salina KS have assembled an expert team of veterinary professionals to bring you the best possible healthcare for your pet.  We have a state of the art veterinary facility which is clean, comfortable, and efficient.  Call 785-823-2217 to schedule an appointment and we will find a time that is convenient for you.

Once a year, you should bring your pet to us for a complete medical assessment. One of our three licensed veterinarians will check the health of your pet from head to tail. This will include a full physical exam, where your pet’s eyes, ears, skin, cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal and skeletal system are examined for any abnormalities. Blood tests can be performed if necessary to assess the proper functioning of your pet’s kidneys, liver, pancreas, and endocrine system including the thyroid gland and adrenal glands. Urine tests can detect similar problems. Depending on your pet’s condition, we may recommend further diagnostic tests such as X-rays or ultrasound.

To provide us with a history of your pets health, please bring in any medical record you may have from your pets previous veterinary clinic.  It's best to keep a journal of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts.  If you have any concerns, please share it with our team.

In some circumstances, our Veterinarians will refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.
